Abstract
Concrete is an important component in a building. However, the use of concrete making materials that are used continuously will be depleted, so new materials are needed that can be used in making concrete. Ceramic waste is one of the wastes generated from the renovation of houses and buildings in Kendari City that is not utilized. The reuse of ceramic waste is one of the profitable alternatives. So it is necessary to do research by utilizing waste that has not been used as an ingredient in concrete mixtures.
This study aims to determine the optimum value of the compressive strength of concrete from the use of ceramic waste as a substitute for coarse aggregate and fine aggregate. The type of compressive strength of concrete without using ceramic waste added material obtained an average compressive strength of
25.549 MPa at the age of 28 days. With the substitution of coarse aggregate into ceramic waste as much as 9% produces an average compressive strength of 26,752 MPa, 15% produces an average compressive strength of 23,355 MPa, 30% produces an average compressive strength of 29,724 MPa. While the substitution of fine aggregate into ceramic waste as much as 9% produces an average compressive strength of 25,053 MPa, 15% produces an average compressive strength of 22,081 MPa, 30% produces an average compressive strength of 30,149 MPa at the age of 28 days. The addition of ceramic waste achieves the most optimum results when the addition of ceramic waste as a substitute for fine aggregate is 30%.
